FAQ'S
How much do you charge?  Please refer to the "Our Services" section for pricing information.  There are different options for holiday care so feel free to get in contact for a personalised quote.
How many dogs are on the group off-lead walks?  Walkies believes that dogs have more fun if they can play and interact with other dogs.  Groups are kept small with a maximum of 6-7 dogs per person.  Groups are carefully selected with breed, age, sex and personality in mind and can be discussed with the owner beforehand.
Do you arrange picking up and dropping off the dogs?  Yes, for social walks your dog will be collected in our doggie van and then returned home after their walk.  If you have opted for a private walk we depart the walk from your home to maximise the time allocated.
Do I need to be home when you collect or drop off my dog?  No, you don't.  Pick up times can vary & if your dog is not accessible outside the home it is preferable you organise a combination key lock to be kept on the premises so your dog does not miss out on walkies!  You can give instructions at the initial meet & greet session.
What does "Mobile Doggy Daycare" involve?  This is a half day option, available for dogs who are suitable for the off-lead walks.  Your dog will be collected in the morning and attend 2 play-group walks before being returned home.  You can expect your dog will be out playing with friends for approximately 3-4 hours.  Bookings can be regular or casual, please call to discuss availability.  They must travel well in the doggie van with their fellow friends.
What is a buddy walk?  An on or off-lead walk of approximately 30-40 minutes where your dog will be paired with a suitable walking buddy, depending on availability.  This is a good option for the shy or timid dog who does not enjoy small group play but still enjoys some company with another gentle, friendly dog.  We thoroughly consider who we may pair together to get the perfect match for your pooch!  The walk may depart from your home or we may collect your dog in our van to transport them to meet with their walking buddy.  Places are limited.
Do you do out-of business hours walking?   Yes, but please contact us to discuss.  Public holidays and weekends may incur a surcharge.  Holiday care is offered 7 days a week at no extra charge.
What do I do if I need to cancel?  Please contact us by phone or text giving at least 24 hours notice or the full booking fee will apply.
What do you do in case of emergency?  In the unlikely event of an emergency, we will immediately call and notify you.  In the initial meet and greet, we ensure that we have an alternate emergency contact.  If veterinary assistance is needed, we will take your dog to your named vet or, depending on circumstances, to the nearest possible veterinary clinic, at your expense.  We recommend you keep your credit card details on file with your vet to avoid any delay in emergency treatment.
Where do you walk?  Solo walks begin from your home and explore the surrounding neighbourhood.
Buddy walks will begin from your home or the walking buddy's home, or a nearby off-lead area.
Group play walks are held in the local secure off-lead dog parks and varies on the day.
This includes: Civic Park, Pine Avenue Reserve, Herbert St. Reserve, Oakridge Reserve, Citation Oval, Dunns Road Reserve, John Butler Reserve, Cobb Road Reserve.

My dog has not been spayed or neutered, can he/she still be walked?  This can be discussed at the initial consultation, each dog will be considered separately but we reserve the right to refuse any dog.  We may recommend private or buddy walks as an alternative.
My dog is really strong and I struggle to walk him myself.  Can you take him?  Your dog will need to be assessed on-lead even for a group off-lead walk.  For your dog to access the off-lead park they still need to be manageable without causing injury to the walker.  For on-lead walks this can be discussed.  If your dog is too strong for his Walkies handler we can recommend local dog trainers and behaviouralists who are experienced in this field to help guide you.
What happens if my dog doesn't get along with another dog?  Careful selection is made for group and buddy walks to minimise this happening.  Each dog is vetted and trialled and any unsocial behaviour will not be accepted.  Your dog will be immediately removed from the group & you will be notified on the day.  We want all of our dogs to enjoy their Walkies!  We do not tolerate excessive barking, herding, aggressive growling, biting, stalking, hunting behaviour, dominant play, pinning, body slamming, mounting.
My dog can be aggressive with other dogs or people, can you still walk him? Can I provide a muzzle?
Unfortunately, we cannot accept an aggressive dog even with a muzzle.  Aggression is stressful and dangerous not only for the handler but also for the other dogs.  We are happy to recommend local dog trainers to assist you.
I only require occasional walks for my dog, can you help?  Yes.  We are happy to provide services when you require, assuming we have availability.  Please give as much notice as possible.  See the fees for Casual Bookings.
How do the dog's travel in the van? We pride ourselves in ensuring all the dog's are happy with a companion travelling in the van.  We have 3 large sections in the rear so your dog can travel with a suitable friend.  If need be we can clip them in for some personal space and extra security.  Smaller dogs often get to ride in the front seat.
What happens in rainy weather?  We get wet!  The dogs love it!  We will dry your dog as much as possible on returning home.  We do ask that you leave out a towel and, if you have a hose, that we have access to this to rinse off any mud.  If the weather is predicted to be extreme we will contact you on the day to cancel the walk.
Can you administer my pet's medication? Yes. Medication can be administered in accordance with your written instructions.
What does holiday care/home visits include?  At your home visit we will tend to your required needs.  This may include care such as walking, feeding, cuddling & general health review.  Home care such as bringing in the mail, taking out bins, watering pot plants, general security check, poop patrol in the garden and filling bowls with fresh water can be attended to.  Holiday care may include once or twice a day visit.  Please call to discuss the best option for you.
Do your services cater for all dog breeds?  Depending on temperament some dog breeds may be unsuitable for play-group walkies, please feel free to get in touch.  We meet all dogs before we walk them and each new dog is subject to a trial period.  Any instances of aggressive behaviour will be investigated and we reserve the right to refuse to walk any dog.
When are you available to walk my dog?  We walk every day Monday to Friday for regular and casual bookings.  Group off-lead walks will be picked up in the first half of the day.  Solo or buddy walks will be catered for depending on availability.  Weekend and public holiday walks can be requested if required.
How do I pay you?  Payment must be received prior to Walkies! pick up.  You will receive a digital invoice via text message using Square Payments (www.squareup.com).  Regular bookings will receive this payment link automatically on
Sunday for the upcoming week.  Please click on the link to view and pay your invoice with your debit/credit/applepay or googlepay.  Payments are secure and private.  Walkies! Dog Walking Services does not receive or store payment details.
Alternatively, cash or card can be accepted on the day.  Please give notice if this is your intention.  If payment is not received prior to or at pick up your doggie will miss out on all the
fun!
HOW DO I ARRANGE WALKIES OR PET CARE?  CALL OR TEXT LAURA TODAY TO DISCUSS YOUR NEEDS.  IF WE CAN HELP, WE WILL ARRANGE A COMPLIMENTARY MEET & GREET SESSION AT YOUR HOME.  THIS WAY WE GET TO MEET YOU AND YOUR PET/S, ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE AND COMPLETE A REGISTRATION FORM.  YOU CAN ADVISE ON HOW WE CAN ACCESS YOUR PET ON THE DAY.  PLEASE PROVIDE EVIDENCE OF CURRENT VACCINATION AND DESEXING CERTIFICATE FOR OUR RECORDS.  WE HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON!

"This is a fun and quality service

for dogs - I have an elderly schnauzzer who is always so happy to go on walks with Laura, and he benefits from walking and playing with the other dogs. It is the best investment !!"

Rose, Mornington

"Happy to recommend Walkies!

Laura has been reliable and caring always within our poodle-cross who loves going out with her doggy mates. It has made such a huge difference to her being left at home while we are at work. She is always relaxed when we get home in the evening."

Page, Mornington

Laura is a friendly, professional and trustworthy person who has been an absolute blessing to our family!

Our two dogs love their walks with Laura and we are so grateful for the energy she gives them, especially as they always come home happy and exhausted!

Aside from Laura being great at her job, she’s also a joy to chat with- so it’s always lovely to cross paths with her at doggy pickup or drop off!"
